Orthopaedic Radiology Lecture: The Knee - What the Surgeon Needs the Radiologist to Say
A presentation-driven lecture bridging the gap between radiology reporting and orthopaedic surgical decision-making for knee pathology. The session is structured around five common clinical scenarios: the acutely injured knee (meniscal tears, ACL rupture, multiligament injuries), the chronically painful knee (osteoarthritis grading, chondral defects, subchondral insufficiency fractures), the post-operative knee (hardware evaluation, graft integrity, infection workup), paediatric knee pathology (osteochondritis dissecans, tibial spine avulsions), and tumour mimickers around the knee.
Each scenario is presented with paired radiologist and surgeon commentary on the same imaging set, highlighting what findings change management and what descriptive language is most useful in the report. Suitable for orthopaedic trainees, general orthopaedic surgeons, and radiologists with a musculoskeletal interest.
